LOL
Before Mona and I headed to the coast, I was able to visit with a couple of friends that wouldn’t be at the beach house. Sheri picked me up from the airport and we enjoyed a Starbucks latte as we drove to Shawna’s house.
When we pulled up to Shawna’s house I waited as Sheri got her son out of the car. Suddenly I heard Shawna and Casey yelling at me to get in the house. I yelled back that I was stalling because I knew I was going to cry. Our eyes watered, but amongst the hugs we were able to hold it together. :o)

Once at the beach house the time just flew by. We ate well, and drank…well too! :o) We went shopping in Rockaway Saturday afternoon and came back with our “Beach Weekend Mascot” called the Bindie. I’m sure I’m spelling it wrong, but it was a sheet of small-jeweled stickers basically to be worn for fun. People did take notice of our new facial accessories. An older sales clerk mistook us for Collage Students – nice! Another confused grocery store clerk believed Pam when she said told him we were in town for a Hindu Convention.
Saturday night our Bindies took a life of their own. Soon we were sporting them as nose rings too. The ever creative Shawna started to sport them as “chin – dies” and threatened to make them into “wind-ies”. She also sported a small pink tear dropped bindie under one eye. A tribute apparently to the pink fairy she killed. Yeah…maybe you need to ignore my post below where I tried to convince you that we were sophisticated types! LOL.
Nails were polished, and Tammi preformed reflexology foot massages. Pam streaked Shawna’s hair and Mona came prepared with more then crotchet scissors to cut her hair this year.
It was a fun time and I felt like I had never moved away. It felt strange not to say “I’ll see you Tuesday at MOMS Club” when we were all saying our good-byes. They are a special group of ladies and I’m so glad that we have our yearly beach retreat to get together and stay in touch.
Any way, take a moment to watch our video slide show. It is full of pictures that both Mona and I took over the weekend. Enjoy!
